Audit Manager

An established accountancy practice is looking for a Manager to join its well-established, dynamic Corporate Services team. This role is suited to a qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with post‑qualification experience, or a newly qualified professional with relevant experience. You will play a central role in managing corporate clients, ensuring audit and accounting work is delivered accurately and efficiently, while supporting and developing junior team members.

The role offers exposure to a variety of businesses, from mid‑sized to larger corporate clients, and includes involvement in audits, accounting, corporate tax compliance, and special assignments such as group reorganisations and management accounts.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring timely delivery of audit, accounting, and tax compliance services.
  • Plan, supervise, and complete audits, reviewing systems, controls, and financial statements, including attending client sites as required.
  • Oversee preparation and review of accounts and audit files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
  • Provide advice and guidance on company secretarial matters and other client responsibilities.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities for additional services and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise junior staff, supporting their development and conducting performance reviews.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and workload planning for team members.
  • Manage budgets, billing, and client work allocation effectively.
  • Stay up to date with relevant accounting and audit developments, attending CPD and professional development activities.
  • Undertake general administrative duties and support senior management as required.
Personal Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA) with relevant experience; newly qualified candidates with strong exposure to corporate services considered.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Experience managing corporate clients with turnovers of £5‑20 million or more is desirable.
  • Proven experience mentoring or coaching junior staff is advantageous.
  • Confident in business development activities and maintaining professional client relationships.
