Job summary

Clark Wood are recruiting an Audit Director to join a well-established accountancy firm in Worcestershire. This senior RI position leads a varied portfolio of audit clients and guides the firm’s audit offering to new heights.

You will oversee audits from planning to completion, ensuring strict technical quality and exceptional client service, with a focus on development of staff and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Qualified RI with ACA or ACCA and UK practice experience.
• Strong experience across all areas of audit and compliance.
• Experience managing a varied portfolio including groups, schools and academies.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
• Excellent client relationships and communication skills.
• Commercial mindset with focus on business development.

Responsibilities

• Act as Qualified RI on audit assignments and oversee a varied portfolio.
• Lead audits from planning through to completion with high technical quality.
• Review audit files and financial statements and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with auditing, accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and act as trusted advisor.
• Manage, mentor and develop audit staff and managers.
• Support growth and development of the audit department.
• Identify opportunities for additional work and contribute to business development.
