Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is hiring an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to lead audits for local government, NHS, and central bodies. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely, high-quality audit delivery across engagements.

Ideal candidates hold ACA/CA/ACCA or equivalent, with strong UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration experience to support firm growth and client trust.

Qualifications

• ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
• Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Up-to-date UK GAAP (FRS 102) and IFRS knowledge; Companies Act experience.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to coach and supervise junior staff and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Audit Delivery – manage audits for local government, NHS, and central bodies from planning to completion.
• Planning & Organisation – develop audit strategies and scoping plans with timely resource management.
• Technical Application – apply UK GAAP/FRS 102, IFRS, and Companies Act knowledge to audits.
• Review & Reporting – draft audit opinion summaries and reporting packs for review by seniors.
• Team Support – supervise audit trainees and seniors, allocating tasks and giving on-the-job feedback.
• Coaching & Development – mentor junior team members and provide guidance.
• Quality & Compliance – ensure files meet standards and regulatory requirements.
• Client Relationships – act as day-to-day contact for clients and manage queries.
• Commercial Awareness – monitor budgets and assist with billing; identify value-add opportunities.
• Collaboration – work with other service lines and contribute to firm initiatives.
