AAB is seeking an Audit Advisor/Assistant Manager in Canterbury on a permanent basis. This role sits within External Audit and focuses on delivering high-quality audits, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.

The position offers opportunities to lead engagements and contribute to business development within the firm. Key duties include planning, fieldwork, and reporting, while ensuring adherence to budget, timelines and professional standards.

Qualifications

Qualified required professional designation (ACA/ACCA/ICAS or equivalent).
Newly qualified candidates will be considered for the role.
Experience in audit within a practice environment and client-facing stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Audit Delivery: plan, perform and complete audits in line with standards and budgets.
Client Management: develop portfolio, build relationships and identify value-add opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development: manage juniors, provide coaching and feedback.
Commercial Management: monitor WIP, fee proposals, and engagement profitability.
Technical & Quality: maintain accounting/audit knowledge and adhere to quality controls.
Business Development: participate in tenders and external opportunities.
