Job summary

Mercer & Hole in Milton Keynes is seeking candidates for its Audit Higher Apprenticeship Programme. You will work within the Audit team while studying towards the AAT Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications, gaining broad client exposure across sectors and learning from senior managers and partners.

The programme offers a structured path with trainee away days, a dedicated training manager, a buddy and study leave, plus ongoing development through the Learning Academy toward ACA qualification and

Qualifications

• Study towards AAT Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications.
• Structured apprenticeship with trainee away days, a dedicated training manager, a buddy and study leave.
• Opportunity to apply to move on to studying the ACA and become a chartered accountant.

Responsibilities

• Year 1: Analyse bank payments and receipts.
• Year 1: Prepare control accounts and calculate prepayments and accruals.
• Year 1: Update fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
• Year 1: Draft basic financial statements and apply auditing principles.
• Year 2: Prepare more complex statutory accounts and carry out smaller audits independently.
