Qualifications

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice, including accounts preparation and tax work.
• AAT qualifications or ACA or ACCA in progress.
• Understanding of accounts preparation and tax compliance for owner managed businesses.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines with support.
• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
• A friendly, collaborative approach and a willingness to learn.
• Previous audit experience would be beneficial, though strong accounts background encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, for review by senior colleagues.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance.
• Undertaking bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns where required.
• Assisting with audit planning, fieldwork and completion, representing up to 25% of your workload.
• Liaising with clients to obtain information and respond to routine accounts and tax queries.
• Working closely with colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver an excellent service
