We are looking for aband5Audiologist to join our experienced team of healthcare scientists. Our service is based in Windsor, and we also cover several sites across east Berkshire and staffregularly workat different sites during the week.Our core hours are 0800-1600 Monday-Friday.We see a range of complex adult and paediatric patients for audiological assessment and rehabilitation, as well as providing audiology support to our ENT colleagues.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, Healthcare Science practitioner RCCP registered with BSc in Audiology or in Medical Physics, Physiological Measurements and BAAT I and II.

You will carry out all routine aspects of diagnostic and rehabilitative adult audiology, while also becoming involved in the most advanced techniques and procedures.

There is also routinepaediatrichearing assessment for older children via support for ENT clinics.

You will communicate calmly,compassionatelyand effectively reassuring service users so they feel, valued,heardand understood.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
  • BSc in Healthcare Science - Audiology / HCCC in Audiology Prior to 2006, basic qualification in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements (or equivalent) and successfully completed both parts of BAAT I and II and/or HTEC in MPPM
  • Possess RCCP registration and hold an up-to-date CPD portfolio.
Previous Experience
  • Demonstrated during or post-qualification experience working autonomously in both adult and some paediatric testing in both diagnostic and rehabilitative areas.
  • Have some experience in training/supervising other staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Have knowledge of all standard and advanced test procedures. Knowledge and understanding of professional policies and procedures.
  • Have completed appropriate record of clinical competence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills particularly with the hard of hearing and deaf.
  • Possess good computer and database skills
  • Have wide knowledge of NHS networks/referral routes.
