Full time; 40 hours per week

Permanent position

Based in: Covent Garden, London.

The Royal Ballet and Opera, situated in our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are. The whole is always more than the sum of its parts – we may be a House, but three quarters of our audiences experience what we do outside this building. While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world. Understanding our global audience (their behaviours, preferences and habits) is central to our mission to engage more people with our art forms through programming and commercial development, as well as reporting accurately to our funders and supporters.

We are seeking to recruit an Audience Data Analyst to join our Analytics and Insight Team as we enter a new and exciting season of ballet and opera programming. This role will focus on delivering high-quality data analysis, ensuring that we continue to develop a holistic and evolving image of RBO audiences and sales. The postholder will provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders across the organisation, enabling them to make strategic, evidence-based decisions.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, with the ability to operate independently to agreed deadlines, producing high quality and accurate work for a range of stakeholders at pace. They will be able to contribute to the output of a multi-functional and collaborative team, working with a range of specialists across UX and CX Research, Pricing, Ticketing and Marketing.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Able To Demonstrate
  • Strong practical data analysis skills, including SQL skills
  • Strong numeracy, analytical reasoning and attention to detail
  • The ability to understand the underlying questions of an analytics request and to translate stakeholder requests into clear, focused analysis briefs
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the confidence to work constructively with stakeholders, technical colleagues and subject matter experts
  • Clear experience of taking analytical work from an initial question through to accurate findings, clear conclusions and actionable insight.
An Understanding Of The Below Will Be Beneficial And Highly Regarded So Please Do Reflect These In Your Application If You Have
  • Experience with ticketing or CRM data
  • Experience working across multiple data sets
  • Experience with audience, visitor, member or customer data in a performing arts or visitor attraction environment
  • Experience using Python, R or another analytical programming language for data analysis or automation.
