The National Waterways Museum Gloucester is a vibrant visitor attraction within Gloucester Docks. We aim to provide all visitors with a fantastic welcome and memorable experience.
We host exciting activities and events throughout the year. We are recruiting individuals with a strong customer service focus, a welcoming attitude, and flexibility to work at our welcome desk, in our on-site shop, and café to ensure every visitor's experience is memorable. Experience in a café is not essential, as training will be provided, but it is a plus.
As a Casual Attraction Assistant, you will primarily work in the museum's welcome area, greeting visitors from around the world. Your role is to make each visit special. It may include welcoming tour groups, selling merchandise, assisting with events, working in the café, light cleaning, guiding families, selling ice cream, engaging with boaters, helping with demonstrations, and collaborating with volunteers.

If you care about delivering a memorable visitor experience, we want to hear from you. Your working hours will be ad hoc, mainly supporting weekend and bank holiday events. Full training and uniforms will be provided.

You understand how your role impacts visitors’ enjoyment—whether they are on holiday, attending events, or visiting with friends. You can work occasionally during the week but are most likely to work weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays.
