Job summary

Kettering Science Academy is seeking an Education Welfare Officer to join the inclusion and safeguarding team. You will strengthen attendance, reduce persistent absence, and remove barriers to learning by working with families, students and external agencies.

You will monitor attendance data, support statutory processes, and promote a culture where attendance is everyone's responsibility, with a clear, compassionate approach to intervention and support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with families, students and safeguarding teams.
• Ability to monitor attendance data and identify patterns of concern.
• Professional liaison with external agencies such as Local Authority and social care.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with students and families, including home visits where appropriate.
• Monitor attendance data and identify patterns of concern.
• Work closely with pastoral teams, safeguarding staff, and senior leaders.
• Liaise with external agencies including the Local Authority, Early Help, and social care.
