Job summary

Supply Heroes is seeking an Attendance Officer for a welcoming secondary school in Perry Barr, Birmingham. The role is full-time and long-term, starting September 2026, with the potential for a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

You will monitor attendance, work with families to remove barriers to learning, and support pastoral and safeguarding teams to promote high attendance and student wellbeing. A DBS check and safeguarding compliance are expected components of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance-related roles within a school environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong administration, data management and IT skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse attendance data to identify trends and concerns.
• Follow up on student absences and punctuality issues.
• Work with students and families to improve attendance and engagement.
• Conduct attendance interventions and support early help strategies.
• Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and reports.
