Parmiter's School in Watford is seeking an Attendance Officer to maintain accurate attendance records for Years 7–11, collaborating with the Pastoral Support Base and staff to support students and families.

The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent IT and administrative abilities, and the ability to work calmly under pressure. Prior attendance or education-setting experience is advantageous but not essential.

Job description

The Attendance Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records for students in Years 7 - 11 as stipulated by legislation. The Attendance Officer works within the Pastoral Support Base, alongside the Student Support Officer, working closely with staff, students and parents/carers.

This role is ideal for you if you have strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail. You should be able to demonstrate excellent IT, communication and administrative skills. The ability to work calmly, professionally and efficiently under pressure is essential. Experience of working in a similar role or in an education setting would be advantageous but is not essential.

The preferred working pattern for this role is 08.00 - 16.00, Monday to Friday. However, some flexibility on timings can be offered and discussed at the interview. Ofsted (2024) commented "Pupils' enthusiasm and excitement towards their learning is evident…Pupils conduct and manners are exemplary. They help and support their peers to do well. It is common practice to hold doors open for others and behave in a friendly, courteous manner. Adults enforce clear learning routines. Pupils sensibly transition between activities". We can offer:
