Job summary

NHS Scotland Ayrshire & Arran is recruiting two Promoting Attendance Assistants based at Lister Street, University Hospital Crosshouse. The roles are fixed-term for 12 months and involve 36 hours per week with flexible patterns.

You will provide confidential absence management support to line managers and staff, working within the Promoting Attendance Team to reduce sickness absence and ensure policy compliance. A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent qualification or experience
• Knowledge of NHS Scotland Workforce Attendance Management Policy and experience of its application
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
• Excellent numeracy skills
• IT, Internet and keyboard skills with a knowledge of the full MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of databases and HR information management systems.
• Strong communication skills, oral and written.
• Ability to work confidently with a wide range of people and build relationships within short timescales.
• Influencing and negotiating skills.
• Capacity to be flexible across all areas of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and confidential absence management support to line managers and staff across the organisation.
• Join an established Promoting Attendance Team where focus is on ensuring Attendance Management process compliance and progression to formal process.
• Perform audits, data gathering and analysis and support line managers to undertake formal meetings to improve attendance.
• Collaborate with managers, staff side and occupational health.
