Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council’s Inclusion Service seeks an Attendance Officer to support Pinefield Centre, Monday to Friday, in term-time. You will work to reduce unauthorised absences and promote positive engagement with pupils and families.

The role requires adherence to safeguarding, GDPR, and child protection procedures, with home visits and liaising with schools. Training and support are provided, and the post is permanent.

Qualifications

• Experience in school attendance and safeguarding practices.
• Ability to work with families to improve attendance.
• Experience using IT systems to generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Reduce unauthorised absence under guidance of senior staff.
• Lead first day response with families and schools.
• Maintain clear records and reports using IT systems.
• Promote safeguarding and compliance with GDPR and child protection procedures.
• Manage workload in line with service priorities.
