Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Attendance Officer for Pinefield Centre to work Monday to Friday term time (8:30am–4:00pm). The role supports reducing unauthorised absence, raising attendance levels and working with pupils and families to promote regular attendance.
You will undertake daily first day responses, keep concise records, use IT systems to produce reports, and collaborate with schools, CAMHS, Health partners and Social Care while safeguarding children and following
The Complementary Education Service Supports schools in ensuring statutory educational provision for pupils who cannot attend school in the usual way. This may be due to medical illness, pregnancy or emotional and psychological difficulties.
Teaching is provided within our teaching base in the centre of the borough (Formby) and through provision of home tuition and online learning packages.
We work in partnership with outside agencies including CAMHS, Health partners and Social Care. The Service supports schools in raising the levels of achievement, attendance and participation for vulnerable groups to enable them to engage in appropriate learning opportunities with a view to reintegrating with their mainstream or specialist settings.

Due to the nature of the work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Prohibition of Teachers List will also be checked. Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education requirements, online searches will be undertaken for all shortlisted candidates.
