Job summary

Deyes High School is seeking an exceptional Senior Attendance Lead to drive attendance improvement across the school and safeguarding framework. You will lead the Attendance Team, design inclusive strategies and partner with families and external agencies to remove barriers to regular attendance.

You will analyze attendance data, monitor trends and implement targeted interventions for key groups while ensuring alignment with safeguarding responsibilities and statutory duties.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Strong understanding of attendance legislation, procedures and best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify effective interventions.
• Commitment to safeguarding and high expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the school's Attendance Team.
• Develop and implement attendance improvement strategies.
• Monitor, analyse and report on attendance data to drive improvement.
• Work with students, families and external agencies to improve attendance.
• Conduct home visits and attendance meetings when required.
• Support safeguarding responsibilities and statutory attendance duties.
• Lead interventions for disadvantaged, SEND and vulnerable pupils.
