Job summary

Kidsgrove Secondary School seeks an Attendance Officer & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our dedicated team. Based at Kidsgrove Secondary School, the role also supports attendance at Kidsgrove Primary School and focuses on improving attendance and safeguarding for pupils.

You will monitor attendance, analyse trends, and work with pupils, families and external agencies to remove barriers to attendance while upholding safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Experience monitoring and analysing attendance data and reporting to senior staff.
• Ability to engage with pupils and families with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles and data protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse daily attendance, identify patterns and concerns.
• Collaborate with pupils, parents/carers, pastoral teams and external agencies.
• Follow up unexplained Absences in line with school procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and prepare reports for leaders.
• Support attendance targets and statutory responsibilities.
• Provide DDSL duties and act as deputy for safeguarding team when required.
• Record safeguarding concerns and ensure appropriate escalation.
