Marchant Recruitment are assisting a high-performing secondary school in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, to recruit an organised Lead Attendance & Family Welfare Officer for an immediate start. The role focuses on attendance improvement, family interventions and safeguarding compliance.

You will monitor daily attendance, oversee home visits, coordinate multi-agency support, and report to SLT and Governors. The position is full-time with term-time options, requiring DBS Update Service or willingness

Competenze

• Proven experience in school attendance, pastoral support or education welfare roles.
• Strong understanding of DfE statutory attendance guidance, legal notices, and safeguarding standards.
• Proficiency with MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, CPOMS) and reporting tools.
• Excellent de-escalation and communication when engaging with families.
• Active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

• Monitor daily attendance and track unexcused absences.
• Coordinate home welfare visits and multi-agency meetings.
• Prepare attendance reports for SLT and Governors.
• Identify pupils at risk of persistent absenteeism and support action plans.
