Job summary

Harris Federation is seeking an Attendance and Admissions Officer to oversee attendance and admissions at the school level. This role offers a chance to develop in a school environment focused on attendance and admissions, with a team dedicated to student welfare.

Qualifications

• Qualifications to degree standard or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft software.
• Knowledge of MIS for input and export of student attendance data.
• Three years' experience of working in an inner-city school or educational establishment.
• Experience of working with students from a range of ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the management and development of attendance and punctuality policies.
• Daily monitoring and follow-up of attendance and punctuality.
• Contacting parents/carers of absent students and recording reasons for absence if given.
• Daily monitoring and early calls on the attendance of children in care or students on the vulnerable list as a priority, reporting to the Academy Welfare manager daily.
• Being the main point of contact for Admissions, Transition and other student Induction events, with parents, students, staff and Local Authority.
