Job summary

Newcastle United Women Academy is seeking an Academy Physical Performance Lead to design and deliver age-appropriate, evidence-informed S&C programmes that support long-term athletic development and injury risk reduction across the academy.

You will work closely with coaches and medical staff to optimise physical potential, monitor progression, and educate players and coaches on nutrition, recovery and healthy lifestyle habits.

Qualifications

• Design and deliver evidence-informed strength and conditioning (S&C) programmes.
• Excellent knowledge of long-term athletic development principles.
• Experience delivering physical development programmes in womens and girls sport.
• Experience in a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication, motivation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and review S&C programmes aligned to the NUW Performance Plan.
• Monitor player progression through testing and progression plans.
• Support rehabilitation, return-to-play and injury prevention with the MDT.
• Provide physical performance support during training and matchdays.
• Maintain accurate player records and databases.
• Educate coaches to integrate physical development into technical programmes.
• Deliver player education on nutrition and recovery.
• Maintain and develop performance monitoring systems.
• Develop S&C equipment and facilities.
