Job summary

Nottingham City Council is recruiting a Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE) Level 1 in Nottingham. You will be supported through a structured early career programme with supervision and development aligned to national standards.

You will handle a caseload appropriate for an NQSW, working across safeguarding, family support and care leavers, while developing recording and court-related skills in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• A recognised social work qualification (degree) and Social Work England registration.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to learn and reflect on practice.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload appropriate to level, including Child in Need work.
• Complete assessments, visits and direct work with children and families.
• Contribute to development and review of plans to reduce risk.
• Work with colleagues and partner agencies.
• Learn to use safeguarding frameworks in practice.
• Develop recording, assessment and report writing, including court work.
• Meet national requirements for ASYE development.
