We are expanding and looking for enthusiastic lawyers to join our growing dispute resolution team.

The ideal candidates will likely be 1-4 PQE with previous experience in one or more of our specialist areas – we would particularly welcome applicants with solid experience of commercial litigation, civil fraud, insolvency, construction disputes, professional negligence, regulatory investigations, public law and/or reputation management.

The successful individuals can be based in the firm’s Bedford Row or Putney offices. The firm is also committed to flexible working arrangements.

Technical skills and expertise

We seek energetic lawyers with good attention to detail and a record of providing proactive, commercially astute advice.

At 1-4 PQE you will have a varied caseload, assisting the team with larger cases, plus managing and progressing files in your own name, with close supervision and support from more experienced team members.

The Role

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Analysing cases to identify strengths, weaknesses and alternative solutions;
  • Considering various litigation funding options, including Conditional Funding Agreements, as well as working with litigation funders and ATE providers;
  • Drafting correspondence, witness statements and applications;
  • Instructing counsel;
  • Negotiating and exploring Alternative Dispute Resolution as appropriate;
  • Researching and drafting advice;
  • Proactively managing a mixed caseload of work to manage client expectations, maintain momentum and ensure sustainable financial performance;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients by repeatedly delivering effective results as part of a close team;
  • Business development activities internally and externally to raise the profile of the team.

Russell-Cooke’s lawyers are rounded professional advisers with strong commercial awareness and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. All our lawyers benefit from our cohort-based career development programme. We understand the importance of building an internal network and have developed this excellent cohort programme to allow our lawyers to work together across practice areas and share their knowledge, experiences and networks.

At each stage of your career, and as you move through the cohorts, a bespoke training programme will be provided to support you with your development and progression.
