Job summary

Greyfriars Church in Reading is seeking an Associate Vicar to lead discipleship, pastoral care and missional growth in a vibrant town-centre congregation. You will be an experienced leader and preacher, able to manage staff and volunteers, build healthy culture, and partner with the Vicar to develop staff, raise faith and pray bold prayers for the church.

This role offers a generous stipend and terms of service in line with national Church of England provision, with a focus on reaching under-30s

Qualifications

• Deeply rooted in Scripture, prayer and the work of the Spirit.
• Experienced leader able to manage staff and volunteers, grow leaders and shape healthy culture.
• Collaborative, cooperative and organisationally strong, with relational warmth.

Responsibilities

• Discipleship pathways, pastoral wellbeing and missional growth.
• Lead and develop staff and volunteers with warmth and transparency.
• Collaborate with the Vicar to shape ministry across all ages.
• Provide preaching and leadership in weekly worship.
