Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University (Cardiff Met) invites applications for an Associate Tutor in Designed and Built Environments. The role involves teaching on BA Architecture, BSc Architectural Design & Technology and related cross-school modules on a sessional basis, communicating complex ideas clearly with academic rigor.

You will liaise with the programme team, prepare course materials, deliver lectures, provide feedback, and mark work as required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
• Ability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the HEA Professional Recognition scheme (desirable).
• Knowledge across architecture, architectural technology, and related areas.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Sound understanding of pedagogy and ability to design teaching and learning material.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and understand course documents including syllabus, assessment methods and schedules.
• Coordinate with the programme team to understand requirements and changes.
• Prepare effective course material and enhance learning through a student-centered approach.
• Attend and deliver sessions, lead discussions and provide guidance to students.
