Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Bristol is seeking an Associate Transport Planner to join our growing team. You will lead delivery of development-led transport projects, collaborating with clients, local authorities and internal project teams.

Your role includes delivering Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and related studies, managing projects from start to finish, and supporting business development while mentoring junior colleagues. Hybrid and flexible working is available.

I'm working with an established and growing independent transport planning consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Transport Planner to join their Bristol team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner looking to take on greater responsibility across project delivery, client management and business development, while playing an important role in the continued growth of the consultancy.

The Role

As an Associate Transport Planner, you'll take a leading role in delivering a range of development-led transport projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and internal project teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and transport studies
• Managing projects from initial brief through to completion
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Providing transport planning advice to developers and landowners
• Liaising with local authorities and other industry stakeholders
• Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
• Contributing to bids, proposals and winning new work
• Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
• Helping to shape the continued growth and development of the business

What They're Looking For

• Strong experience within a transport planning consultancy
• Experience delivering Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and development-related transport studies
• Good understanding of the UK development planning process
• Strong project management and client-facing skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships
• Commercially aware and interested in contributing to business development
• Ability to work independently while also supporting a wider team
• Ideally working towards or holding Chartered Transport Planning / CIHT status
