Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Associate Town Planner to join our growing planning team. You will take ownership of varied development projects and collaborate with clients, authorities and consultants to deliver positive planning outcomes.

The role covers residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration schemes across the North East. You will lead applications from inception to determination, mentor junior staff and help develop new business while

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related field required.
• MRTPI qualification or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience in planning consultancy, developer or local authority.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy.
• Experience managing planning applications from inception through to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide pragmatic planning advice.
• Ability to manage client relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Proactive approach and ambition to progress.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Associate Town Planner to join our growing planning team in Newcastle.

You will work across a broad range of sectors, potentially including residential, commercial, mixed-use, regeneration and strategic development.

The Role

As an Associate Town Planner, you will:

• Lead and manage a range of planning projects from inception through to determination.
• Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals and other planning documentation.
• Provide commercially focused planning advice to clients and project teams.
• Manage relationships with clients, local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, commercially aware and keen to progress their career within a successful planning consultancy.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Town Planning, Planning & Development or a related discipline.
• MRTPI qualification, or be working towards chartership.
• Significant experience within a planning consultancy, developer or local authority environment.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation and policy.
• Experience managing planning applications and projects from inception through to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic planning advice.
• The confidence to manage client relationships and liaise with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• A proactive approach and the ambition to develop and progress.
