Associate to Senior Associate - Retained Executive Search

Maiden Marc Associates is collaborating with a leading retained executive search boutique with offices in London and New York. They are seeking several Associate and Senior Associate-level candidates to join their prominent Financial and Professional Services teams.

The firm specializes in operationally and strategically vital roles worldwide, with a proven track record of placing CEOs, direct reports to the board, and leaders of revenue-generating front-office functions within Finance Services, including Hedge Funds, Banks, and Asset/Wealth Managers.

Working directly under and learning from a hands-on Partner, covering practices in Tech, Digital and Data, Front-Office, or Corporate Functions, the ideal candidate will be able to execute search mandates independently from day one.

You will be encouraged to build your network, manage senior professionals as a trusted advisor, and develop into a fee-generating Principal responsible for your own revenue area.

Core responsibilities include:

  1. The ability to identify, reference, proactively reach out to, and assess candidates for active retained mandates.
  2. Creating detailed competitor analysis, strategic overviews, bespoke market benchmarking, and product intelligence reports, referencing and profiling market leaders.
  3. Executing search mandates, managing candidates, and delivering to clients while working closely with Partners on closing candidates and developing client relationships.
  4. Owning pre-pitch/origination research and due diligence activities.

The firm is in the midst of a five-year growth plan and is looking for Associate and Senior Associate talent to develop into future Principals and leaders.

High-performing Associates will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and grow within the firm, demonstrated by their current track record of talent development.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • 12 months to six years of experience, preferably in search or headhunting, or a relevant professional services background, with consideration given to high-performing contingent recruiters seeking to move into retained search.
  • Experience with executive search mandates, market research, or a strong drive to pursue such roles.
  • Excellent academic credentials, with degrees or postgraduate qualifications highly valued, along with exemplary writing skills and high attention to detail.
  • A mature, driven personality that enjoys problem-solving, is motivated to deliver high-quality work, and has a natural drive to overachieve.

The salary range depends on experience, starting at £38,000 and potentially exceeding £80,000 for more experienced Principal-level candidates. The package includes a leading total compensation scheme (base plus performance bonus), opportunities for internal growth, mentorship from senior leadership, and potential relocation to New York for interested candidates.
