Job Description:

Hydrock is recruiting an Associate Sustainability Consultant to join our influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team. You will be part of our collaborative team across the UK, helping develop and deliver complex projects, from local authorities to universities and masterplan developers.

We are passionate about decarbonisation and building a climate-resilient future, and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with clients to identify sustainable design opportunities and energy reduction initiatives.
  • Facilitating decision-making to foster improvements and identify value drivers.
  • Preparing high-quality sustainability and climate change reports to support planning and development projects.
  • Managing project data and databases effectively.
  • Participating in external forums to advance sustainability performance standards.
  • Training junior team members and supporting business development activities.
  • Developing expertise in environmental modelling and building physics.

Qualifications and skills needed:

  • A relevant degree (BEng, BSc, or equivalent).
  • Experience in project delivery, client engagement, and management within consulting.
  • Knowledge of building environmental design and sustainability practices.
  • Experience with environmental modelling tools like IES, Radiance, ApacheSIM, SBEM, Macroflow.
  • Familiarity with planning policies, especially GLA requirements.
  • Chartership or membership of relevant institutions is a plus.
