Job summary

BSP Consulting is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to join our Derby office and lead a design team on projects across the East Midlands and UK. You will oversee client briefs, quotations, and the allocation of work while maintaining financial performance and design quality.

The role expects Chartered status with at least ten years in structural engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD, TEDDS, TEKLA, and CSC Portal Frame Designer, plus strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Chartered structural engineer with a minimum of 10 years' experience in the industry.
• Strong ability to lead a team, manage budgets and timelines.
• Experience coordinating client briefs, quotations and resource planning.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, TEDDS, TEKLA and CSC Portal Frame Designer.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients to take project briefs and prepare quotations.
• Distribute work across the structural engineering team and conduct reviews.
• Maintain financial consistency and oversight of schemes within the team.
• Coordinate forecasts, invoices and financial performance of projects.
• Lead staffing interviews and report to the board on resourcing.
