Job summary

Strata Consulting in Derby is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer to lead the delivery of structural projects across commercial, residential, industrial, heritage, and bespoke schemes. You will manage design teams, maintain client relationships, and provide technical leadership across the discipline.

The role requires a structural/civil engineering degree, chartered status (IStructE/ICE), and strong experience across materials, with proficiency in Tekla, TEDDS, ETABS or Robot.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and be chartered or near-chartered with IStructE or ICE.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and delivering structural schemes across materials.
• Proficient with structural analysis/design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, ETABS or Robot.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural design of projects from feasibility to construction.
• Produce and oversee high-quality structural designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
• Review and sign off calculations, drawings, models, and technical documentation.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians within the structural team.
• Manage project budgets, programmes, and client communication.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Support business development and contribute to bids and proposals.

Our busy client is seeking an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join their expanding Derby office. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven engineer to lead projects, support team development, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our structural engineering offering.

About the role

As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will lead the delivery of structural engineering projects across a diverse portfolio, including commercial, residential, industrial, heritage, and bespoke structural schemes. You’ll manage design teams, maintain key client relationships, and provide technical leadership across the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural design of projects from feasibility to construction

Essential:
