Job summary

Energi People is seeking a Senior / Associate Structural Engineer to join our Cambridge office. The role offers ownership of a varied portfolio of building structures projects and a clear path to progression within a growing consultancy.

You will lead design deliverables for residential, university, and existing building schemes, providing technical guidance to junior staff while ensuring high-quality outputs. Hybrid working and long-term career development are available.

Qualifications

• Has strong experience within UK building structures consultancy.
• Is ideally Chartered with the IStructE or working towards Chartership.
• Has experience across a range of structural materials and building types.
• Can confidently take technical ownership of projects and provide guidance to more junior engineers.
• Is comfortable working predominantly from the Cambridge office and recognises the value of being present to support and supervise the wider team.
• Has the ambition to progress with a growing consultancy.
• Ideally has an established network within the industry and the commercial awareness to help the business develop further.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and delivery of a varied portfolio of building projects.
• Work across projects ranging from residential developments and house extensions to university, college and student accommodation schemes.
• Deliver structural engineering solutions for refurbishment, barn conversions and existing building projects.
• Undertake structural surveys and prepare reports on existing properties.
• Provide technical supervision and guidance to engineers and technicians within the team.
• Take responsibility for the quality and technical delivery of your projects.
• Work closely with Directors and senior members of the business to help shape the continued growth of the structural team.
• Develop into a key member of the business with the opportunity for long-term progression.

A well-established structural engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior / Associate Structural Engineer.

To join its Cambridge office. With a strong pipeline of work continuing to come through, this is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a close-knit team and take a leading technical role across a diverse range of building structures projects.

The successful candidate will be joining a team of around 15 engineers in the Cambridge office, with further support from an established team based in the regional office. This is a permanent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career with the business and potentially progress into a more senior position.
