Job summary

Chadwick Nott is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate in Planning & Environmental law to join its Exeter team. The role involves advising on planning, infrastructure and development matters, with hybrid flexibility for a permanent, full-time position.

You will work on major projects, contribute to business development and collaborate across the Transactional Property Group, with a focus on quality client advisory and strong drafting skills.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
• Experience advising on DCOs, ICOs and major infrastructure regimes
• Strong Town and Country Planning Act experience
• Experience in energy, transport, utilities or regeneration sectors desirable
• Environmental law experience beneficial but not required
• Excellent drafting, analytical and technical skills
• Commercial, pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Advise on planning and infrastructure matters for major projects
• Lead on DCOs, ICOs and infrastructure consent processes
• Negotiate section 106 agreements and related documentation
• Provide planning support on corporate, real estate, energy and infrastructure transactions
• Collaborate with the wider Transactional Property Group

• Share knowledge and mentor junior colleagues

Associate / Senior Associate - Planning - Exeter - 3-6 Years PQE Location: Exeter Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility) Salary: £60,000 to £85,000 A nationally recognised law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (3-6 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Planning & Environmental team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects and complex development matters within a practice ranked in Chambers and Legal 500.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for advising on a diverse range of planning and infrastructure matters, including:

• Development Consent Orders for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects
• Infrastructure consenting regimes and examination processes
• Town and Country Planning Act matters, including applications, appeals and development strategy
• Negotiating section 106 agreements, highways agreements and related documentation
• Providing planning support on corporate, real estate, energy and infrastructure transactions
• Working collaboratively across the wider Transactional Property Group
• Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser
• Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the practice
• Sharing knowledge and supporting junior colleagues

Candidate Requirements

• Approximately 3-6 years PQE (flexible for strong candidates)
• Experience advising on DCOs, ICOs and/or major infrastructure consenting regimes
• Strong Town and Country Planning Act experience
• Experience in energy, transport, utilities or regeneration sectors (advantageous)
• Environmental law experience (beneficial but not essential)
