Horwich Farrelly, a leading UK insurers and commercial law firm, is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate solicitor to manage mainly litigated RTA claims for major motor insurers in a hybrid Liverpool-based role. You’ll handle cases up to £500k, advise on tactics, and develop strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated RTA claims for major motor insurers worth up to £500k.
• Maintain timetables and deadlines across multiple cases.
• Prepare and review evidence and manage extensive disclosure.
• Advise clients on litigation tactics and review evidence.
• Prepare court documents and attend conferences with experts/clients/counsel.
• Attend court or telephone hearings and represent clients where appropriate.
• Interview witnesses to obtain statements and build case files.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure SLAs are met.
• Collect and update accurate MI and contribute to department training.

We are currently looking for an experienced Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate who will be working on a caseload of mainly litigated RTA claims on behalf of major motor insurers, mainly with a value of between £50,000 and £500,000, and assessing liability and quantum throughout.

You will be working in a team of highly experienced professionals in an engaging and driven environment. This will be a challenging yet rewarding role, as not only do we promote strong relationships and results for our clients, but we also promote strong working relationships within the team.

What will I be doing?

Personal and Technical Skills

• Ability to conduct a case load of mainly litigated RTA claims on behalf of major motor insurers, with a value of between £50,000 and £500,000
• Managing timetables
• Preparing/reviewing evidence
• Dealing with extensive disclosure
• Advising clients on tactics and reviewing evidence
• Preparing court documents
• Attending conferenceswith experts/clients/counsel
• Attending court/telephone hearings and representing the client for hearings where appropriate
• Interviewing witnesses to obtain witness statements
• Maintaining strong working relationships with clients ensuring deadlines and SLA's are met
• To collect and update accurate MI
• Maintain high standards of professional conduct while achieving agreed financial, operational and other performance targets
• Exhibit and promote a high level of technical competence within your department, acting as a knowledge hub supporting the production of technical material and training

What do I need?

• Be a qualified Solicitor
• Have experience of conducting their own caseload of claims with a value up to £500k
• Have strong organisation skills and an ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Be a good communicator and enjoy building relationships
• Be able to provide clear and concise advice
• Wish to learn new skills and acquire technical expertise
• Work well in a team and under supervision
• Excellent attention to detail, negotiation and analytical skills
• Not be afraid to question and challenge information and evidence put forward by the parties (and their representatives) in a case
• Have a commercial awareness to legal issues
• Be flexible with a positive attitude to change, both internally and in the context of clients' business
