Job Description:
Primary Responsibility

The Vector Process & Analytical Development team is focused on developing Adaptimmune’s Lentiviral Vector manufacturing process, and the analytical assays used for Lentiviral Vector characterisation and release. This role supports these functions.

  • Execution of experimental work to support vector team projects
  • Accurate recording of experimental data
  • Maintenance of cell cultures
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment

Initially, supervision by an experienced team member is required, but the job holder will develop scientific skills to work independently on routine duties.

The Associate Scientist may also participate in support activities to ensure smooth laboratory operations (e.g., Lab Steward role).

Performance will be monitored through group performance and stakeholder feedback from peers, senior management, and project team members.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Required
  • Undergraduate degree in Life Sciences or related discipline
  • Ability to learn and develop to work independently within a reasonable time
  • Knowledge of mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, ELISA, nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, flow cytometry, upstream and downstream bioprocessing
Desirable
  • Practical experience in laboratory procedures
  • Aseptic cell culture experience
