Job summary

Enara Bio Limited in Oxford, UK, seeks an Associate Scientist to join the Molecular Validation team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will design and execute molecular and cell/tissue–based studies, interpreting results and guiding next steps while maintaining high data integrity and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, immunology or related life science.
  • Hands-on experience in a biological laboratory environment, ideally biotech/pharma translational research.
  • Experience with core molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA prep, PCR-based methods, RT-qPCR, cloning).
  • Aseptic cell culture techniques, especially using cancer cell lines; basic microbiology.
  • Ability to plan and deliver experiments; data interpretation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong documentation, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Clear written and verbal communication in a fast-paced team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute molecular validation experiments using established protocols.
  • Perform DNA/RNA extraction, RT-qPCR, cloning and sample preparation for studies.
  • Handle human tissue samples for RNA/DNA extraction and HTA-compliant typing.
  • Conduct cell- and tissue-based assays (e.g., transfections, FACS) to assess targets.
  • Analyze data, identify limitations, and recommend next steps based on evidence.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and improve assay quality and reproducibility.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records and support reporting and regulatory work.
  • Communicate rationale, progress and issues in meetings and technical reports.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to meet project objectives and timelines.
  • Support method transfer and knowledge sharing with external collaborators.
