Job Description:

We have an exciting Associate Scientist 2 role within our Virology team in Glasgow. You will be responsible for performing routine and custom GLP/GMP studies, maintaining good housekeeping, equipment, and stock control to ensure smooth laboratory operations. Our Virology team conducts various assays for detecting infectious viruses to support pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, documenting scientific observations to industry standards. Responsibilities include working within the laboratory following SOPs and compliance regulations to ensure timely and accurate completion of studies in line with GLP/GMP standards.

Who you are:

• You have a HND or higher qualification in Virology or related Biological Science discipline.
• You have prior experience working in GLP and/or GMP environments.
• You are experienced with microscopy, aseptic techniques, cell culture, and Molecular Biology techniques.
• You are capable of handling high-volume, fast-paced work and are solutions-focused.
• You are highly self-motivated, proactive, and driven to complete tasks.
• You prioritize quality and safety.
• You possess strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• You have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• You have a good command of written and spoken English and are computer literate, preferably with experience using LIMS.
