Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks an experienced Major Hazards, Process Safety and Risk Consultant to join a busy team delivering high-quality projects across energy transition, oil & gas, chemical and major infrastructure sectors.

Reporting to a senior member, you will manage client relationships, win work, mentor junior colleagues and produce deliverables on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience managing major accident hazards onshore and offshore.
• Energy transition project experience desirable.
• Role can be based from North West, Bristol, London or Newcastle upon Tyne.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead high-quality projects for clients across energy transition, oil & gas, chemical and major infrastructure sectors.
• Provide consultancy for major hazard management, technical safety, risk assessment, and safety case preparation.
• Manage client relationships and win new work.
• Produce high-quality deliverables on time and on budget.
• Mentor junior team members and support project planning.

Due to current workloads and future prospects, WSP has an exciting opportunity for experienced, self-starting and motivated Major Hazards, Process Safety and Risk Consultant. You will join a busy and successful team of process safety and risk professionals who collaborate with both external clients and on internal WSP projects. This role will interest those who are technically excellent, deliver to high standards, build successful customer relationships and enjoy winning new business.

Reporting to a senior member of the team you will be quickly integrated into a closely aligned team of process safety professionals but with opportunities to work with other parts of the WSP community.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Delivering and leading high-quality projects to clients across several industry sectors, including energy transition, oil & gas (onshore and offshore), chemical and major infrastructure sectors.
• Using proven expertise in consultancy for; major hazard managements, technical safety, risk assessment, process safety management, COMAH Safety Report preparation, and offshore Safety Case preparation, functional safety.
• Managing client relationships and winning work.
• Produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget.
• Managing projects and mentoring junior team members.

• Prospective candidates must have experience of managing major accident hazards either onshore and/ or offshore facilities.
• Experience in energy transition projects is desirable.
• The position can be based out of the following offices: North West, Bristol, London or Newcastle upon Tyne.
