The Associate plays a critical role within the squad, taking a lead on designing, developing, and optimizing EBRD's infrastructure and software solutions within their own value stream.

The Associate provides guidance to individual contributors and works closely with other multi-functional teams and business product owners to deliver high-quality, product-aligned services that meet users' needs.

The role may involve leading small projects, and the individual is expected to be proficient in software design, CI/CD pipeline implementation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or related technologies within their specialization.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Listen well and speak up: The Associate fosters a culture of continuous learning, encourages open dialogue, and shares feedback constructively.
  • Collaborate smartly: They build strong relationships with team members and key stakeholders, mentoring new members and seeking service improvements.
  • Engineering Excellence: The Associate leverages their expertise to enable team success, stays updated with latest technologies, and mentors less experienced engineers.
  • Agile Ways of Working: They help the squad adopt Agile methodologies, focusing on delivering value iteratively and learning continuously.
  • Managing cost and budget: While not directly responsible for budgets, they manage technology value effectively and track effort using appropriate tools.
  • Quality at our core: The Associate embeds quality assurance and automation practices, such as Test Driven Development, into their work.
  • Secure First: They promote security best practices, ensuring compliance with policies and embedding DevSecOps principles.
  • Drives User Experience: The Associate ensures services are user-centered, aligning development with user needs and journeys.
