Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Cobalt Recruitment in Sheffield is seeking an Associate Planner to advance both strategic planning and client-facing delivery.
You will lead planning applications, build networks, and advise clients on strategy, with autonomy to own live instructions and contribute to business growth.
The role focuses on city-centre living, regeneration and multidisciplinary project teams within a relationship-led consultancy.
What if your next planning role gave you the opportunity to shape the business as well as the projects?
Cobalt are working with a specialist planning and development consultancy in Sheffield to appoint an Associate who wants more than a purely technical planning position.
This is a streamlined, relationship-led consultancy where planners are trusted to build their own networks, develop opportunities and become long-term advisers to clients. You’ll have the autonomy to take ownership of live instructions while playing an active role in the continued growth of the business.
You’ll manage a varied portfolio spanning residential, commercial, regeneration, employment and strategic development. You’ll lead planning applications and pre-application work, advise clients on planning strategy and development potential, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage projects through to determination.
The commercial side of the position is equally important.
Building on established relationships within the property and development sector, you will identify new opportunities and turn professional contacts into new and repeat instructions. You’ll also contribute to fee proposals, tenders and wider business development activity.
We’re looking for an MRTPI planner with strong working knowledge of the UK planning system and experience across city-centre living, regeneration or comparable development projects.
You’ll need an established professional network alongside the ability to build trusted client relationships and provide commercially focused advice.
If you and want greater ownership of your clients, projects and the direction of the business you work for, this could be a very interesting next move.
