Job summary

QinetiQ in Farnborough is seeking an Associate Noise & Vibration Engineer to support laboratory and field trials, collect and analyse acoustic and vibration data, and assess exposure on personnel. You will work within the Human Performance Noise & Vibration Team, contributing to safety, comfort and operational effectiveness on Defence projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Acoustics or a related STEM field, plus hands-on testing experience and willingness to travel within the UK.

Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem solving with ability to interpret complex data.
Experience using data analysis tools such as MATLAB or similar software.
Ability to communicate technical findings clearly through reports and presentations.
Understanding of engineering, physics, acoustics or vibration principles from study or project work.
Experience of laboratory testing, experimental work or engineering research projects.
Willingness to support field trials and undertake occasional UK travel.

Responsibilities

Support planning and delivery of noise and vibration trials in lab and field environments.
Collect, process and analyse acoustic and vibration data using specialist equipment and software
Assess the impact of noise and vibration on human performance, comfort, fatigue and communication
Prepare, calibrate and maintain acoustic and vibration measurement equipment
Contribute to technical reports, presentations and customer deliverables
Support the evaluation of hearing protection systems and vibration mitigation technologies
