Job summary

Visa GNOC team is seeking an Associate Network Analyst to perform shift work, detect and mitigate network issues, and respond to events affecting connectivity for Visa clients and internal services. You will gain exposure to SD-WAN, Cloud and payment-product technologies, with primary responsibilities including incident management, ticket tracking, and escalation as needed.

On-site role under GO Flex Model, with alternating shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in incident management and ticket handling.
  • Basic networking knowledge including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively throughout the incident management process.
  • Follow documented support procedures to resolution or escalation.
  • Track, update and resolve incident tickets in the system with thorough documentation.
  • Assess incident priorities and escalate to prevent impact on Visa services.
  • Familiar with Visa-proprietary and industry-standard monitoring tools.
  • This is an onsite position under the GO Flex Model.
  • Work in alternating shifts: 3 days/week or 5 days/week from 07:00 to 18:00 UK time.

Job Description

As a member of Global Network Operations Centre (GNOC) team, the Associate Network Analyst will perform shift work to detect, mitigate or notify and elevate network issues. They have the primary responsibility for managing and responding to Network, Hardware and external client and circuit events which may result in impaired connectivity to our clients and internal business. The position requires a basic understanding of how logical and physical connectivity issues can affect transaction quality of Visa Clients. You will be able to explore many latest technologies that support the Visa Operations, such as SD-WAN, Cloud, and various Payment products/services.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the incident management process to ensure that all communications are timely and accurate, as per the documented process.
  • Follow documented support procedures, managing each issue to a resolution or passing over to the next shift to maintain established service levels.
  • Track, update, and resolve all assigned incident/change/problem tickets in the incident management system, ensuring that documentation is thorough, accurate and meets a standard of high quality.

  • Basic understanding of all Visa-proprietary as well as industry-standard tools to support monitoring and response for client and Visa brand issues.
  • This is an onsite position following the GO Flex Model.
  • Please note that this position requires working in alternating shifts – 3 days a week / 5 days a week from 07:00 to 18:00 UK Time.

This is an on-site position. An on-site position must be consistently performed at an assigned Visa office location and require daily commute to the office location.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
  • Good common sense and analytical mindset, good time management and attention to details when documenting incident handling progress.
  • Basic understanding of routers/switches/firewalls/load balancers/cloud technology.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco and Juniper Networks devices with hands-on experience of logging in to those devices.
  • Basic knowledge of ServiceNow or other incident and change management system.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational skills, ability to prioritize a constantly changing workload.
  • Preferred: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, AWS, ITIL certification.
  • Desirable: Any experience of network automation, especially Python / Ansible based.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in Network Operations.
