Description

The Associate Medical Strategy Director will be responsible for implementing best-in-class medical strategy for McCann Health London. With client needs front and centre, they will ensure that scientific rigour is driving differentiated thinking and is infused through our work. As part of the leadership team, they will form close partnerships across disciplines, support business growth, and raise the profile of medical strategy in the agency.

Responsibilities

Knowledge/Expertise

  • Demonstrate versatility in the application of disease state, clinical knowledge, and strategic skill set to key brands and use that knowledge to inform strategic recommendations.

Strategic Skills/Tools

  • Combine in-depth scientific understanding of the product and disease state with market awareness to provide high-level communication planning for clients.
  • Work with the Director of Medical Strategy to implement strategic offerings of the medical strategy department.

Client Relationships

  • Ensure key client needs and deliverables at McCann Health London are met.
  • Actively participate in brand planning with clients and internal teams.
  • Lead scientific workshops, briefing, and projects for clients.
  • Represent the medical strategy discipline by participating in key client-led workshops.

Business Development

  • Support new business at McCann Health London by leading medical strategy in pitches.

Communication Skills

  • Present authoritatively and with credibility to internal teams, clients across commercial and medical staff, and KOLs.
  • Build constructive, open, and cooperative relationships across disciplines and senior management, to help deliver work throughout the organization to the highest standard.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and line management, ensure high-quality selection, training, development, and performance management of all direct line reports.
Requirements
  • PhD is ideal but not essential.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Medical strategy experience in healthcare advertising.
