Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer to join their Building Services team in the UK (Birmingham or Leicester options).

You will lead the design and delivery of complex building services projects, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to drive high-quality outcomes. The role requires Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it, along with proven consultancy experience, leadership skills, and proficiency in design

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical or electrical/building services engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working toward it.
• Experience delivering building services projects in consultancy.
• Strong leadership and project management.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness with cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex building services projects.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams; maintain client relationships.
• Produce detailed calculations, specifications, and drawings.

What you'll need to succeed Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) Proven experience delivering building services projects within a consultancy environment Strong leadership and project management skills Excellent communication and client-facing abilities Commercial awareness and experience with project cost control Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Hevacomp, IES, Dialux, Relux) Full UK driving licence
