Hoare Lea in the UK is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Exeter or Plymouth offices. You will lead large-scale, complex projects, manage stakeholders, and ensure high technical delivery across MEP services.

The role requires proven experience in mechanical engineering, a strong grasp of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD. You will work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment with a supportive, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering on complex mechanical projects.
• Understanding of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment with client-facing communication.
• Proficiency in Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards and consultancy practices.

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings and disseminate the brief to the project team.
• Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects.
• Deliver solid technical delivery, solo or as part of a team.
• Mentor and guide junior staff to develop their skills.
• Collaborate with the Firm-wide Group to share knowledge.
• Monitor fee expenditure, resources and project progress.
• Explore new ways of working and opportunities for innovation.
• Maintain a high reputation and ensure QM and risk controls are followed.
