Job summary

Morgan Hunt is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer Building Services to lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across sectors such as Education, Commercial, Healthcare and MoD.

You will mentor graduate and senior engineers, manage project teams, review technical reports, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with current standards and sustainability requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • CEng status or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IMechE.
  • Significant consultancy experience delivering mechanical building services projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, public health, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable design.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating with external consultants.
  • Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programmes.
  • Proficient in Hevacomp, IES VE, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership in HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, public health, and low-carbon building services design.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, programme management, and financial performance.
  • Review and approve technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
  • Support business development activities, including preparing fee proposals, attending client meetings, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Mentor and develop graduate, intermediate, and senior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation, British Standards, Building Regulations, and sustainability requirements.
  • Promote innovation, digital engineering, and best practice throughout project delivery.

Associate Mechanical Engineer Building Services

A local M&E building services engineering consultancy with unparalleled experience in the successful delivery of all forms of projects across the construction and real estate spheres. The services on offer range from design, TTD, dilapidations, surveys, NEC 3, decarb studies, technically advisory work and more. They operate across multiple sectors including Education, Commercial, Healthcare and MoD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across multiple sectors

    • Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programmes.
    • Proficient in industry software such as Hevacomp, IES VE, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design packages.
