Job summary

RGB, a multidisciplinary consultancy, is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to lead the Mechanical team in the Winchester office. The role is permanent with a salary between £60,000 and £70,000 per annum, and a focus on delivering sustainable, robust designs from concept to completion across defence, healthcare, education, residential and commercial sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships and coordinate with architects, structural engineers and contractors,

Qualifications

• Significant experience within Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Strong client-facing and project management skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary MEP projects.
• Proactive approach with high quality engineering delivery.
• Working towards or achieved IEng/CEng status.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Building Services projects across multiple sectors.
• Coordinate Mechanical design teams through all project stages.
• Deliver concept through to detailed design as lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Develop mechanical building services designs, specs and reports.
• Produce reviews of calculations, drawings and design documentation.
• Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and commercial performance.
• Maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and standards.
• Contribute to business development and growth of the team.

The Associate Mechanical Engineer will join the Winchester office of RGB, a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering integrated design solutions across the built environment. This permanent role offers a salary between £60,000 and £70,000 per annum. You will lead the Mechanical team within Building Services, overseeing projects across defence, healthcare, education, residential, and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities include producing sustainable, technically robust designs from concept to completion, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Building Services projects across multiple sectors.
• Manage and coordinate Mechanical design teams throughout all project stages.
• Act as the lead Mechanical Engineer, delivering concept through to detailed design.
• Develop Mechanical Building Services designs, specifications and technical reports.
• Produce and review calculations, drawings and design documentation.
• Manage project programmes, resources, budgets and commercial performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other consultants.
• Mentor, develop and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure projects comply with current legislation, Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Building Services team.

Requirements

• Significant experience within Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Consultancy or contractor design experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary MEP projects.
• Strong client-facing and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and risk.
• HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards or already achieved IEng or CEng status.
• Experience using industry-standard design software, including Revit and CAD.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• A proactive approach with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
