Coleman James is seeking an ambitious Mechanical Associate to work with the Technical Director in Birmingham, helping to develop and grow the business across the Midlands and South regions. Qualifications

• Lead the design and coordination of mechanical building services systems.
• HVAC design and system integration experience.
• Client liaison and project delivery across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, public health and plumbing, and low-carbon technologies.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications, reports, and design drawings.
• Support sustainable and energy-efficient building designs across healthcare, commercial, residential and education sectors.
• Manage mechanical engineering aspects of multiple projects, monitor budgets, resources and deadlines.
• Coordinate with architects, structural and electrical engineers, contractors and other consultants.

We are working alongside a privately-owned Building Services consultancy who have been operating for over 25 years. They have 5 offices and are looking for an ambitious Mechanical Associate to work alongside the Technical Director in Birmingham, in Developing and growing the business across the Midlands and South regions. Your workload will be interesting and varied offering different challenges and rewards every day with involvement in management, business development, commercial management and delivery with ongoing support from Director level. Projects sectors include Custodial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and much more - MEP values currently ranging between £2-70m.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and coordination of mechanical building services systems, including:
• HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
• Public health and plumbing systems
• Low-carbon and renewable energy technologies
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications, reports, and design drawings.
• Support the delivery of sustainable and energy-efficient building designs.
• Manage mechanical engineering aspects of multiple projects across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, residential, education, and leisure.
• Monitor project budgets, resources, and programme deadlines.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, contractors, and other consultants.
• Attend design team meetings, site visits, and client workshops.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams.
• Present technical solutions and design proposals to stakeholders.
• Assist with winning repeat business and developing new client opportunities.
