About the role

AECOM is seeking Associate Director Landscape Planners to join and support the growth of our UK&I Landscape Architecture team. As a member of one of the UK&I’s largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will lead on a range of regional and global major projects, including exemplar regeneration, energy transition, and infrastructure schemes. Working on projects from Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects to local scale offers the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams, influencing design from an early stage to create a landscape legacy, while supporting progress towards net zero and delivering wider environmental and social benefits.

Ideal candidate

We are interested in applicants who are experts in landscape planning and assessment, particularly energy transition (wind, solar, hydrogen, nuclear, storage, and grid connections), residential, and defence. Job Responsibilities

Applicants should demonstrate technical expertise to carry out the following tasks:

  • Undertake site surveys and analysis using innovative processes.
  • Produce or oversee reports, drawings, and technical documentation for various project stages.
  • Engage with clients, respond to requirements, and nurture relationships.
  • Lead communication efforts in meetings, calls, and workshops.
  • Provide guidance and inspiration to the team, supporting growth and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Manage project aspects including contracts, finances, and schedules.
  • Understand and apply AECOM procedures.
  • Prepare LVIAs, TVIAs, and evidence-base documents, responding to NISP examinations and inquiries preferred.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of the UK planning system related to landscape architecture.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in preparing landscape and visual impact assessments, evidence-base documents, and responding to inquiries.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system relevant to landscape architecture.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, and schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Competence in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
  • Additional useful skills: ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civils 3D, Revit, LSS, or ProjectWise.
Qualifications
  • Landscape Institute accredited degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute.
  • Full UK driving license.
