Job description

Associate Geotechnical Engineer - Nottingham - Up to £70K DOE + Excellent Benefits
Are you ready to take a leading role within a growing geo-environmental team? My client, a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with offices across the UK, is expanding their Nottingham office and looking for a Principal Geo-environmental Engineer or Associate to head up their local geo team.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a key leadership position where you'll not only manage a diverse workload but also play a pivotal part in developing the team and driving the business forward.

The Role:
Based in the vibrant Lace Market area of Nottingham, you will:

  • Lead and manage a small but growing geo team within a collaborative office alongside civil, structural and transport professionals.
  • Oversee a range of geo-environmental and geotechnical projects across private and public sectors, from pre-planning through to construction.
  • Manage ground investigations, design remediation strategies, and oversee earthworks and validation works.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, working closely with the regional director and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to provide integrated engineering solutions.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant earth science or engineering discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered/Qualified Person (QP) status.
  • Strong technical skills, including use of software such as MS Project, Openground, Surfer, and ideally CAD/GIS.
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

What's On Offer:

  • Competitive salary tailored to experience.
  • 4.5% employer pension contribution.
  • Minimum 25 days holiday, increasing with service + bank holidays.
  • Holiday buy-back scheme and long service awards.
  • Support for professional membership and chartership.
  • Bi-annual appraisals and structured progression.
  • Informal flexible working environment in a modern city-centre office.

Why Join?
This is a business with a genuinely supportive culture, known for nurturing talent and offering progression opportunities. They're award-winning, proactive, and have built a strong reputation for delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across multiple disciplines including civil, structural, geo-environmental, and transport planning.
