Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Associate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer to join their Reading team on a hybrid basis. The role combines technical delivery, project management and client liaison, with the chance to take ownership of projects from inception to completion.

You will prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies, undertake hydraulic modelling with Flood Modeller/TUFLOW/InfoWorks ICM, and mentor junior staff as the team grows.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related subject
• Several years’ experience within flood risk and/or drainage consultancy
• Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
• Good knowledge of SuDS and UK planning requirements
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• The confidence to manage projects and liaise directly with clients

We’re working with a specialist consultancy who are looking to bring an experienced Associate Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer into their Reading team.

The role

You’ll be involved in a mixture of technical delivery, project management and client liaison, with plenty of scope to take ownership of your work.
